About Louise D'Angelo's story

Louise's story of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of the Golden Lady of Happiness is not just another beautiful story about visions from heaven.  This is a wonderful story about the Virgin Mary bringing love, peace, joy, happiness, hope and encouragement to her frightened children.   She comes to us at a most important time in human history.  This is, indeed, the Second Greatest Story ever told.  It tells us how the Holy Mother of God, by the power of her maternal love, light and grace lifts mankind up from the world of sin into which it has fallen.  Louise's story tells us how Mary's triumphant heart of love reunites a fallen world to an all loving and merciful God.

AT Last!  After fifty years of obedience to proper church authorities and to her spiritual directors, Louise D'Angelo's story of her visions of the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary can be revealed to the world.

July 13, 1917 - Fatima
First, let us go back briefly to Fatima, Portugal, where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to three young shepherd children, Lucia age 10, Francesco age 9, and Jacinta, age 7, at a place called Cova da Iria.  The day was July 13, 1917, an historic day for mankind.  It was the third time the children were to see the beautiful Lady from Heaven.

After talking to the children for a short time, the beautiful Lady told them to come again each month until October.  At that time, she would tell them who she was and would cause a great miracle to happen so that all would believe in the reality of the apparitions.

The children were shown a terrifying vision of hell where the souls of poor sinners go.  To save souls Our lady said that we are to pray much and to make sacrifices for sinners.  She also said to the children that God wishes devotion to her Immaculate Heart be established in the world.  If people do as God asks, many souls will be saved and there would be peace.  The Virgin Mary also spoke about the end of the war.  (World War I was taking place at the time).  But, she warned that if people do not stop offending God, not much time would pass when  another and more terrible war would begin during the next Pontificate of Pius XI.  Again she warned, when we see a night illuminated by an unknown light, we are to know that this is a great sign given to us by God that the world is to be punished for its many sins through wars, famine, persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father.  This unknown light in the night sky did indeed happen.  The date was January 25, 1938.  This unusual phenomenon was seen by millions of people in Europe, America and in other parts of the world.  People living today clearly remember when the night sky was aglow with an unusual display of brilliant waves of light.  (History tells us that the following year on September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland and World War II began.)   To prevent this, the Blessed Virgin Mary asked for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the first Saturdays of each month and then there would be peace.

Yet, even before Russia became  a Communist Empire, Our Lady told the children how Russia would spread its error of  atheistic communism around the world provoking wars and persecution of the Church: the good would suffer martyrdom and the Holy Father would have much to suffer.  Then Our Lady said these most magnificent words to the three children

"In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph."

Then she added, "The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me.  It will be converted and an era of peace will be conceded to humanity".

May 1, 1948, Encyclical, Auspicia Quaedam
Now!  Let us go to May 1, 1948, to Rome, Italy, to the Vatican.  On this day Pope Pius XII promulgated his Encyclical, Auspicia Quaedam.  This Encyclical calls for public prayers to be said to Almighty God and  also asks the Blessed Virgin Mary for her intercession for world peace and for a solution to the problems of Palestine.  The Jews were seeking to establish the Jewish state of Israel in the former British mandate of Palestine.  The Arab and Jewish people were at war at the time.  On this historic day of May 1, 1948, Pope Pius XII in his  encyclical consecrated the whole human family to the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  He brought to our mind, how his predecessor of immortal memory Pope Leo XIII consecrated the whole human race to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in his Encyclical  "Annum Sacrum" on May 25, 1899.  In like manner, Pope Pius XII, as the Vicar of Christ, took this opportunity of May 1, 1948, to consecrate the whole human family to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary.  The Pope also asked in his Encyclical that all Dioceses, parishes and families be consecrated, both in public and private devotion to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary.

Now!  On this same historic day when Pope Pius XII consecrated the whole human family , on this most glorious day of May 1, 1948, the Holy Virgin Mary dressed in garments of gold appeared to a young twenty-four year old woman named Louise D'Angelo (now her married name) on a large rock in Meriden, Connecticut.   Standing on a large rock with her Immaculate Heart exposed, the Golden Lady, crowned with heavenly splendor and glory, proclaimed to Louise and to the world, the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart.  (Louise Webster became Louise D'Angelo when she married Michael D'Angelo on September 7, 1957.

Louise's First Spirtual Director
First, some background information before the triumphant vision of May 1, 1948.  Louise has had locutions and visions of Jesus and Mary ever since 1944.  At the time of her first mystical experiences, she lived in New York City and was a professional ice skater.  Her first spiritual director was Father X. Shea who was also Cardinal Spellman's secretary.  Cardinal Spellman was then Archbishop of New York.  He became Cardinal in 1946.  Father Shea was Louise's spiritual director until she returned home to Meriden, Connecticut.

After Louise returned home from New York City  and the ice skating show she was in, the Holy Mother of God appeared to her on October 10, 1946, and told her about the shrine she wanted in Meriden.  The following is what Louise wrote in her notes.  "This morning the Blessed Virgin appeared to me and told me that she wanted a shrine in Meriden.  She was dressed all in white.  She said that I was to go to priests and to tell them that she wanted a shrine built on an overgrown wooded section near my home.  She showed me the land in the vision."  Then Our Lady described to Louise how she wanted the shrine to be built.  Louise's notes continue.  "She said that the shrine was to be white on the outside and white on the inside, except the pews, which are to be light brown, to show purity".  She continued.  "On each pillar place a picture of my Heart and of my Son's Heart to show all who enter that love is here.  On each window place a picture of our love for our children."  She said to name the shrine in honor of her Immaculate Heart.  She called it "The Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary".  She said to put a bell in the steeple and that it would be rung by angels.  She said that Saint Cecilia  will guard the organ so that only the sweetest notes will be played.  She said that I was to plant a rose bush when the shrine is to be started and that the rose bush would sometimes bloom in the winter. Later she said that the stone which should be used for the shrine should be the purest, whitest stone.  Louise tried to tell the priest and the bishop about her Lady's request, but she met with defeat on all sides.

New Spirtual Director
During this time, however, Louise was to find her new spiritual director.  He was Monsignor John Hayes who was the Chancellor  to Bishop Henry J. O'Brien of the Diocese of Hartford, Connecticut.  When Hartford became an Archdiocese on August 6, 1953, Bishop O'Brien became Archbishop of Hartford.  Monsignor Hayes took charge of Louise's spiritual life and of her writings for the next ten years from 1947 to 1957.  Louise's notes record that for almost two years nothing happened in connection with the shrine.  Then one day in 1948 she mentioned the shrine to a friend.  Some Italian ladies found out about Our Lady's request for a shrine and begged Louise to take them to the land.  Monsignor Hayes, Louise's spiritual director, at first allowed her to take people to the land.

First Vision of The Golden Lady of Happiness
It was on May 1, 1948, when Louise took her first group of about eight people to her Lady's land.  (Please note this date.)  Remember, it was on May 1, 1948, this very same day, that Pope Pius XII, in his Encyclical "Auspicia Quaedam", called for public prayers for world peace and for the solution of the problems in Palestine.  (Keep in mind the word "peace".)  At the same time, on this most historic day of May 1, 1948, Pope Pius consecrated the whole human family to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary.  When Louise and the small group of people walked to the top of the hill of Our Lady's land, the Blessed Virgin appeared to her standing on a large rock.  She had not known about the rock before.  This is how Louise described what she saw on this historic day in her notes. "She (Our Lady) was dressed in flowing garments of gold.  She had a halo of twelve stars around her head.  Her Immaculate Heart was exposed.  Golden rays of light came from it and there were roses on it.  She stood with her arms out and down.  She had a crown of gold on her head.  She stood on the world, the moon and a snake which was the devil.  She was very happy and she smiled sweetly.  She also had gold roses on her feet, one on each foot."  Then, as if to let her children and the world know that her appearance in Meriden is the fulfillment of the promise she made at Fatima on July 13, 1917, the first words Our Lady said to Louise were:

"My Immaculate Heart has triumphed.  I am the Golden Lady of Happiness.  I have come to bring peace, joy and happiness to the world."  She continued, "My appearance here is the end of a circle that began at LaSalette.  All the times I have appeared on earth, I was building up to this glorious climax that has come about because of you and the shrine here called the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  I started to draw a circle at LaSalette.  I continued the circle at several places including Lourdes and Fatima.  Now I draw this circle to a close, for now I stand upon this rock as the Golden Lady of Happiness.  Tell my children that I have come in all my glory to bring peace, joy and happiness to the world.

Chosen People Return to Holy Land
How quickly the Golden Lady answered the prayers of Pope Pius XII for a solution of the problems in Palestine.  After the Golden Lady of Happiness proclaimed the triumph of her Immaculate Heart on May 1, 1948, the Republic of Israel was also proclaimed thirteen days later at midnight on May 14, 1948.  Eleven minutes later, the United States recognized the Independent State of Israel.  Two days later, the Soviet Union recognized by law the nation of Israel.  Thus, after more than 2500 years, on May 14, 1948, the biblical prophecy found in Deuteronomy 30:3 and in Ezekiel 36:24 and 37:14 prophesying the return of the chosen people of Israel to Palestine was fulfilled as witnessed by the testimony of history.

To continue with Louise's notes, she writes: "Then she gave me five promises for the world."  Three of the promises given to Louise by the Golden Lady of Happiness on May 1, 1948, are published in Volume I of her book "The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary; Visions of the Golden Lady of Happiness."  Two of the promises were to be kept secret until after her death.  However, under the direction of and obedience  to her spiritual director Father Bradley Pierce, Louise will reveal the fourth and fifth promises given to her by her Golden Lady in Volume II  of her book of the same title.  Louise writes, "They are promises that will bring joy to the world."

The other three promises given to Louise on May 1, 1948, are as follows:

    1. "I promise that the world will not be destroyed before the last day.  The world will not be destroyed before the last day by any force or power of man, or by any force of power of God because now my Heart  can be planted upon this earth and planted deep within the hearts of my children.  No force or power shall take my heart away from my children."

    2. "I promise that if the world of science continues to go against the ways and the teachings of God, then this science will be destroyed and men shall no longer know the secrets which they now know because that knowledge is not important nor is it needed to save a soul."

    3. "I promise that the devil and his evil ones will be pushed back into Hell and much sin shall vanish from the world so that the world will no longer be filled with the sin and corruption that the devil has created."

These great promises and other words were spoken to Louise on this glorious day of May 1, 1948, but she kept them hidden for the next twelve years.  She thought her visions and her Lady's words would be made known only after her death.  "Then suddenly in June of 1960," Louise writes, "the Holy Mother of God appeared to me and told me that she wanted the Golden Lady of Happiness known to the world, the promises known to the world and the shrine known to the world."  This was not an easy task for Louise to do.  To encourage Louise, the Holy Mother of God kept coming to her all during June of 1960 to tell her to make the Golden Lady of Happiness known to the world.  Louise did  make her Golden Lady of Happiness known to the world.  Also, Our Lady asked her to return to the rock for ten consecutive Sundays.  She was to bring others with her.  During the rest of the summer and early fall, a steady flow of people which grew to thousands went to the site of Louise's apparitions to see the rock upon which the Golden Lady stood and to see the person who experienced the apparitions.

When crowds of people became larger and larger, church authorities stepped in and Louise was forbidden to return to the rock.  Louise remained obedient to church directives for years.  Finally, her spiritual director Father Kelleher allowed her to return to the land and rock where she first saw her glorious Golden Lady of Happiness.

The Private Shrine
Today on the land there is a private shrine.  The shrine is enclosed with a chain link fence protecting the rock upon which Our Golden Lady stood and a statue of the Golden Lady of Happiness.  People continue to come to the land and to the private shrine in Meriden.  They come to give her their love with prayers and rosaries, to light candles, to bring her their petitions and flowers.  Processions are held to honor Our Golden Lady of Happiness in May and in October.  During these times her statue is crowned with flowers of love while all sing appropriate Marian songs filled with love and joy.  Once in July of 1960 Our Golden Lady said to Louise, "Tell my children that I desire to hear songs of love and joy."

Other Words From Our Golden Lady of Happiness
Louise still has visions and locutions regarding her work for Jesus and Mary.  Here are some other words spoken to Louise during the summer of 1960.

On July 5, 1960, the Golden Lady said to Louise "I say to you, when you give your Golden Lady to the world, you will reveal all her splendor and power."  On the same day the Golden Lady said to Louise "I want a shrine to my Immaculate Heart at the place where I appeared as the Golden Lady of Happiness.  I want processions and great displays of love.  I will return love for love.  Come to me with prayers of love."

On July 7, 1960, the Golden Lady said these words to Louise. "I am the Golden Lady of Happiness.  I am the Mother of God.   I have come to my children with love, peace, joy and happiness.  In return, I ask for their prayers of love."

On July 12, 1960, the Golden Lady said to Louise, "Tell my children that the Golden Lady of Happiness wants love, pure, simple love…."

On the same day the Golden Lady of Happiness also said, "I stand upon the world, upon the moon and upon the devil to show  all men my power is the greatest.  Men shall see my power.  Let no men fight me, for then they shall lose everything."

On August 1, 1960, the Holy Mother of God told Louise that when her children pray to her, they should pray to the Immaculate Heart of the Golden Lady of Happiness.

The Golden Lady said these things during her appearance to Louise:

"My heart will bless you.  Ah!  My children, pray to my Immaculate Heart.  Ah!  My children, love my Immaculate Heart.  My heart will bring peace to the world."Indeed, a triumph is a triumph is a triumph!  It goes on for all eternity.  The triumph of  the Immaculate Heart of Mary will transform mankind and bring forth the long  awaited Age of Mary  that holy people and saints have written and talked about.  Mary's triumphant love, her light and grace will save millions of souls.  Many people will be converted.  Others will return home to Our Father of love and mercy.  Louise had been told years ago by Our Golden Lady that nations will be converted.  This coming Age of Mary is, indeed, a Golden Age for mankind.  It will be an age where love, peace, joy and happiness prevail.  This will be an age where virtue and grace conquer over vice and sin.

Now that Louise D'Angelo's story of her Golden Lady of Happiness is being told, let the whole world rejoice and be glad!  Share this good news with all of your family and friends; yes, even with the whole world.

Louise's book, "The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Visions of the Golden Lady of Happiness", Volume I, was written by the visionary herself.  Her marvelous story of her Golden Lady of Happiness brings to mankind hope, encouragement and love at a time when it is most needed.
